Did you know that the easiest thing you can do is turn a pair of your mom or dad's (or in my case, brother's) baggy old jeans that they don't want anymore (also make sure they really don't want them anymore) into hip mom or boyfriend jeans? Well it is. Here are my brother's pants on me before i worked my magic: Very baggy and not very cool or easy to move around in :( Until now!! Nice, am I right? The process is actually very simple, you just need to be very careful and pay great attention to detail.
First turn the jeans inside out. Next grab a ruler and some chalk and draw a line down the pants that is about an inch into the pants from the outside. If you bring them in from the inseam, you could mess up the crotch area, and you really want that looking right! You want to keep drawing about an inch in, then trying them on (inch in, try them on, inch in, try them on) until you get the fit that you want. To get a mom jean look, you want to bring more in at the top, around the waist and thighs. To get a boyfriend jean look, you want to bring in more of the bottom. It's so simple because it's a very personal project- take it and do what you want with it! And remember to keep both legs to same, that's probably the hardest part.
